The Watch

The Omega Seamaster Calendar ref. 2627 is such an exciting and historically significant watch.

The brand introduced the earliest Seamaster watches in 1948 just a few years after the end of WW2. During the war, Omega, like many other Swiss brands, produced watches for various armed forces. The brand developed a few things for military pieces — like water-resistant housings — that eventually went into production with early, regular Seamasters. Only four years later, the first Omega featuring a date came to the market. It was the Seamaster Calendar 2627! The one we now got for sale is also an early, rare first generation 2627-1. This very early one got the square date window. From 1953 onwards, Omega changed that to a trapezoid shape.

Searching for something rare, uniqe and historical important? Here you go!!!

The Condition

The dial on this Seamaster is one of the best we ever had. Its 100% original, factory dial in an amazing condition.

Its hard to believe that this stunner is from 1951. The watch have a nice stainless steel case with just small signs of wear. The chamfers is still visible and the caseback is well preserved.

The original dial is the rare early one with the square date window and the wider indexes with beautiful patinated lume. The dial shows some signs of ageing but is still in a very good consition as you can see. The hands have become a bit rusty which is seen more/less in different lights. Since it is the original dauphne hands on this first gen 2627 we have decided to not replace them.

The original clover leaf crown is Omega marked and the original crystal is almost like new - just thin, small signs of wear.

The amazing movement, the bumper cal. 353 is serviced by our watchmaker and under warranty. There is nothing better than the feeling of a bumping heart inside this watch.

The watch is sold "serviced* and under warranty!

The pictures is a part of the description, study therefore the pictures carefully!
