The Watch

The Seamasters was launched in 1948 and have achieved worldwide fame for their rugged reliability. The Seamaster family had its origins in the watches supplied to the British Airforce during the second world war. In 1954, 50 cases equipped with O-ring gaskets were submitted to a succession of extremely severe tests, both in the factory and at the Swiss Laboratory for Watchmaking Reswarch. Each case perfectly resisted pressures of 6 kg/cm2 (corresponding to a depth of 60 metres) and temperatures from -40 C to +50 C, all without showing any trace of water infiltration or humidity.

The Condition

This watch got an factory original dial with small signs of ageing. There is some small patina on the lacquer (but this is very hard to see without a loupe) and a small mark at the dial. Besides that, this dial have ageing very well and is so beautiful with the stanless steel index' and steel hands. The lume have become "creamy".

The case has got some small signs of wear but no deep scratches or dings. It is still sharp with sharp lines. As seen in the photos, the caseback is also very well preserved with just small signs of wear.

The crown is original and correct for the reference.

Sold "as serviced”.
