The Watch
The year 1969 was a major milestone for Omega, largely due to the part the Speedmaster played in the Apollo 11 Moon landing. Interestingly, that same year, Omega decided to take the Speedmaster in a decidedly different direction with the Mark II. It was phased out just three years later in 1972, when the Mark III was introduced.
The Mark II has the DNA of the classic Speedmaster Professional in a thicker, funkier package, which is why many love it. Omega moved the tachymeter bezel to the inside of the crystal and used a different thicker case with hooded-style lugs, but the overall look is pretty similar thanks to the white-on-black dial. Inside beats the manually wound 861 movement that officially became the movement for all Speedmaster Professionals starting in 1969's ref 145.022, the same year this model debuted.

The Condition
This example is in overall good, attractive condition. The Speedmaster Mark II looks great on its original bracelet like this one, but it can also look good on different straps, and with the 20mm lug width, finding different aftermarket strap options is easy.
The dial is very well preserved and the tritium in both hands and index’ have developed a beautiful patina. All in all, the Speedmaster Mark II has just the right amount of unique character. It's a great watch for those looking for a classic design with a twist.
The case is unpolished and as you see razor sharp. And, as seen, the original brush-structure is amazing.
The bracelet is in good condition with some scratches and a slight stretch. This watch was photographed on a 175mm/6.9inch wrist.
