The Watch
A few years ago, Breitling revived the "Premier", a collection of chronographs originally released in the 1940s. Breitling has a rich archive, one that they continue to have success in reaching into for modern re-editions and heritage inspired product lines. The brand has emphasized its historic connection to chronographs meant for aviation for decades.
This is an original Breitling ”Pre-Premier” chronograph ref. 760 and its mid-century charm comes across immediately.
The example we have here has a number of fantastic attributes. The hands are blued-steel batons for accurate time telling. The beautiful dial features stylized Arabic numerals.
The old-school Breitling logo is prominently placed in script under 12 o'clock and a crisply printed tachymeter scale finishes the dial layout on its periphery.
Furthermore, this is a huge watch. 38mm during the 40’s would’ve been considered oversized, and even today it remains one of the most legible and wearable watches.

The Condition
If you search for an untouched original dial from the 1940’s - this is it!
This Breitling Premier is in excellent and honest overall condition. The watch shows of course some signs from wear but it is still as good as We like them - blue original hands, very well preserved (unpolished) case and a light brown dial with signs of ageing - so much to love for a collector. Look at the sharp lines at the case, nice edges to the subtly faceted lugs.The engravings on the caseback are clearly visible.
The crystal got some small signs of use and the caseback got some signs of opening but nothing remarkable.
