The Watch
The Seamasters was launched in 1948 and have achieved worldwide fame for their rugged reliability. The Seamaster family had its origins in the watches supplied to the British Airforce during the second world war. In 1954, 50 cases equipped with O-ring gaskets were submitted to a succession of extremely severe tests, both in the factory and at the Swiss Laboratory for Watchmaking Reswarch. Each case perfectly resisted pressures of 6 kg/cm2 (corresponding to a depth of 60 metres) and temperatures from -40 C to +50 C, all without showing any trace of water infiltration or humidity.

The Condition
This watch got an factory original "linen" structured dial with just small, small signs of ageing. This dial really is as good as it seems in the photos. The linen structure combined with the polish golden index is beautiful. Mark the rare, wider index' for 3-6-9-12.
The case is very well preserved with shap ends and the correct line at the middle of the lugs side. It got some small signs of wear but nothing remarkeable. We never polish our watches! As seen, even the caseback is very well preserved and tell us a history of the previous owner.
He was given this beautiful watch in 1963 from his employer - "Götaverken". We are the second owner. Götaverken was a Swedish shipsbuilding company that was located on Hisingen, Gothenburg. It was founded in 1841, and ceased building ships in 1989. During the 1930s, the company had grown so much that Götaverken became the world's biggest shipyard by launched gross registered tonnage. In 1950 a completely new shipyard was built at Arendal, which is also located in Gothenburg. When the shipyard was completed in 1963, it was internationally unique because most of the building was done indoors. Their old shipyard (Cityvarvet) closed down in 1968.
The crown is an original Omega crown correct for the reference. The crystal is an original Omega crystal with the logo stamped in centre.
