The Norwegian Luftforsvaret (Air Force) had great taste in choosing their chronographs, famously selecting Movado and then Heuer. Yet, on Norwegian forums you can also see this attractive Ebel, with the correct engravings on the caseback, and a great 38mm case size. It has a small defect that actually makes me believe in its military past even more: the hour hand for the chronograph (in the register at 6 o'clock) has the characteristic "snake" shape of a Movado chronograph handset, which likely indicates that it was at some point, replaced with a spare part that the Army had available, which logically was a hand found in the other chronographs that were used.
The chronograph movement in this Ebel is a Lemania CH27, the revered column-wheel chronograph caliber that was Used in one form or the other by Omega (its 3-register version being the caliber 321 found in the vintage Speedmaster), Audemars Piguet, and Patek Philippe.

The Condition
You need to keep in mind that this watch was made during the world war two and probably played a part in the war and was issued by the Norweigian Air Force. With that in mind we would suggest that this watch is in that condition you can expect - not perfect but really good under the circumstansess. The case have sign of wear and so do the dial. The dial have developed patina and something have happend to the telemeter-tracks since they've become worn. The watch have, by the owner, been serviced about a year ago so it keeps time perfect, but, the chonograph don't seem to work (stands still) and two screws seems to be missing in the movement.
