The Seamasters was launched in 1948 and have achieved worldwide fame for their rugged reliability. The Seamaster family had its origins in the watches supplied to the British Airforce during the second world war. In 1954, 50 cases equipped with O-ring gaskets were submitted to a succession of extremely severe tests, both in the factory and at the Swiss Laboratory for Watchmaking Reswarch. Each case perfectly resisted pressures of 6 kg/cm2 (corresponding to a depth of 60 metres) and temperatures from -40 C to +50 C, all without showing any trace of water infiltration or humidity.

This rare black dial honeycomb Seamaster is a one of a kind watch, you don't see them often. The case is a "beefy lugs"-case in nice condition but have some signs of use as you can see in the pictures. The crown is original and in very good condition. The dial is the most spectacular part of this watch - a rare original black honeycomb dial. During the years it have become a bit more "greyish-black" than it was in 1954 but still got all the charm!
