A rare piece of history - OMEGA SUVERÄN

This specific Omega model is considered a rare and highly collectible item. The model was made on demand by Swedish government in the early 1940’s produced by Omega and only to be sold in Sweden. The Swedish government wanted to sell the watch to the Swedish public during WW2 in aim to boost the Swedish economy in order to finance the armed forces as an alternative to war bonds.

They were exclusively produced to the Swedish government and in limited numbers, which explains why the model is considered rare and highly collectible.

This Omega Suveran is powered by Omega’s legendary 30T2 military movement. The 30T2 movement evolved into a family of calibers that would help write Omega’s history of watchmaking for a quarter of a century from 1939 to 1963.

The Condition

The most important thing on a vintage watch is an original dial. Most of these old ”military”-inspired watches from the early 1940’s usually got a lot of damage at the dial but this 100% original dial have made it through the years pretty well.

The dial got signs of ageing but is overall pretty well preserved. The lume have developed a beautiful ”cupcake” patina. The hands may have been relumed at some point.

The case is in good condition with visible lines. It have been polished at some point since 1944 but is still pretty strong. One of the lugholes have been ”bigger” through a bit more polished on one of the lugs. The caseback got some signs from being open but as you can see in the photos the Suverän-engraving is razor sharp.

The crystal is new without any scratches or marks.

The movement is professional serviced and under warranty!
