The Watch
In horology, the Constellation is synonymous with art of luxurious precision in its most refined form: a high-performance movement combined with the perfection of an elegant and refined exterior. On the dial: the name Constellation highlighted by an applied gold star. On the case back: the famous medallion featuring an observatory crowned by a constellation of eight stars, evoking the numeros exploits of Omega in world chronometer competition, among which are the famous world precision records set in 1933 and 1936.The constellation stands for pride, luxury and prestige.
The name Constellation was suggested to Adolphe Vallat, Omega’s sales manager, by Bruno Passoni, a sales representative of Carlo De Marchi, Omega’s general agent for Italy.

The Condition
This amazing vintage Omega Constellation Automatic Chronometer Pie-pan has a caliber 505, twelve-sided silvered dial, polished, facetted, and riveted red gold triangular (arrowhead) hour markers, polished and bevelled gold Dauphine hands, centre seconds with a counterweight, lyre-shaped lugs and 14-carat gold Observatory medallion on the pressed-on case back.
Its hard to believe that this watch is over 60 years old. The watch is well preserved and in an outstanding condition despite the age. The original dial is in very good condition - close to flawless. The case and crystal (original crystal) got some thin, small signs of wear but nothing remarkable - the watch really is as nice as it looks in the pictures.
We got no service history of the watch but everything works without problems, good timekeeping and long power reserve.
