The Watch
Visually the Prince Date will be a familiar piece to many watch collectors. With Tudor's unavoidable connection to Rolex, this 74000 was born during a time when the two brands held hands a lot tighter than they do nowadays. Although the similarities to Rolex here are indisputable, there are a few nuances such as its slightly smaller case width, subtle design changes, and, naturally, its price point. With its steel exterior, the Prince Date also scores all the points on the versatility and wearability front; this guy is ready to be worn all day and all night. But the most significant appealing factor here is that it's from a watch brand that is going from strength to strength at the moment, as it explores its own unique aesthetic away from the shackles of its bigger brother. This 74000 represents a time which undoubtedly in the future will be looked back on with fondness, as two giant watch brands in their own right were once BFFs.
This is a very cool steel Tudor Osyterdate, featuring the self-winding Tudor-modified ETA caliber that was the workhorse movement used in many vintage Tudor watches. The watch houses a very nice and striking off -whitish linen dial that has all its lume plots intact. The case remains strong and the polished bezel is in crisp condition. The bracelet is a Tudor folded link Oyster reference 7835B with a ‘B/08’ clasp and 361b endlinks. The watch has been fully serviced by our watchmaker.
