The Watch
The Heuer Daytona is one of the more interesting Heuer Chronographs from the 1970s.
The "Daytona" was introduced in 1976. This model is in some ways the beginning of the end- one of the last all-new series launched to use the Chronomatic movement, Heuer’s own automatic chronograph calibre. The generation of models that followed the Daytona, such as the Kentucky, Pasadena and second series Montreal began to use Valjoux’s 7750 movement, a calibre that is still offered by TAG Heuer today as the Calibre 16.
The Daytona was made in two different dials; blue and brown (fume - smoke). The brown-ish fume dial is less common than the blue and has a similar colour dial to the Silverstone, but without the starburst finish. Where to find one? At WOFS!
Our amazing Heuer Daytona is from 1983 and still has the original "racer" box and papers from when it was bought in 1983. Did we say that it even have been fully serviced and is under warranty?!

The Condition
WOFS can now offer a rare and exclusive HEUER "Daytona" with fumé dial. Our example is a rare and honest Heuer which the former owner probably have had many exciting adventures with. It is worth noting that he have treated it tenderly - it has still its original hands intact which is rare. The hands on Heuer Daytona was white when the watch was new but have oxidized and transformed into showing a more créme tone (just like the index) which is a key point on determining its originality.
The dial is also untouched and have truly been patinated with dignity with its dégradé finish, meaning that the centre of the dial is a lighter colour that gradually becomes darker as you move towards the outer edge.
The case tells the tale about the softer designs of the 1970s. It has managed to avoid hard polishes and has instead kept its original shape although we can find trace of loving use. The bracelet got signs of use but is still tight and increadibly comfortable to use.
The glas is original and is still intact in place flat along the case. There is some small signs of use but nothing that is troublesome.
The box is well preserved so is the reciept/ensurance recipt from the day of purchase.
