This is a true classy icon! The Omega Speedmaster Professional reference 145.022 was the very first Speedmaster to use the caliber 861, which replaced the revered caliber 321 from the very first models. This was just about the only significant change made to the faithful Speedy, as you have the same 42 mm case with lyre lugs of the previous reference 145.012 and attractive stepped dial. Additionally, this Speedy still comes with a Pre-Moon case back, before the moniker, “The first watch worn on the moon,” was engraved on it. This early version comes with the patina we love on the handset and the indexes, and - even better this one got a rare, original DON-bezel! The Condition
This 145.022 has a well preserved, unpolished case with minimal scratches. The case back got some signs of opening but the Seahorseengraving is deep and legible. There is a small, small, almost not visable engraving in the backside of one lug. The handset comes with a slightly darker patina than the indexes, and got some small damages but is original. The bezel got signs from use but havent been replaced which we are so happy for, This is a rare one! The movement works flawless. The bracelet is well preserved but got some signs of wear.
