The Watch

From the Polaris to the Reverso, Jaeger-LeCoultre has produced legendary watches and provided movements to legendary watchmakers – Audemars Piguet and Vacheron Constantin.

Jaeger-LeCoultre was founded by Antoine LeCoultre the year 1833 shortly after he industrialized parts of the watchmaking process by inventing a machine cutting out pinions from steel. Seventy years later, the year 1903 a skilled watchmaker in Paris by the name of Edmond Jaeger was working on an idea of challenging the Swiss watchmakers in making and producing really thin movements. He had already crafted this type of thin movement and was searching for partners to collaborate with to enable his dream. Who would be better suited than the LeCoultre Family? The collaboration between them was so successful that they officially changed the name to the joint Jaeger-LeCoultre in the year 1937. By this they built the foundation for one of the world’s most famous watchmaker who have produced several of the world’s most classic watches.

The case is well preserved with sharp lugs but it got some signs of wear, but what else to expect on a watch from the 1960's. The strap is used but in a good condition.
