The Watch

The Enicar Sherpa Divette – Super Compressor (ref. 100/116 BaANXS, Brevet 314962) belongs to a very important era in both Enicar’s history and the broader development of professional tool watches.

Enicar was a Swiss watchmaker founded in 1913 in La Chaux-de-Fonds. The brand became especially respected during the 1950s–1960s for its robust “tool watches,” aimed at explorers, divers, and sports professionals.

In the mid-1950s, Enicar introduced the Sherpa line—named after Himalayan guides—to emphasize durability and reliability in extreme environments. These watches were associated with real expeditions, including a Swiss Everest expedition in 1956.

The Sherpa Divette is part of Enicar’s early dive/sport watch family from the late 1950s to mid-1960s. The engraving “Brevet + 314962” is one of the most important identifiers on this watch. It refers to a patent by Ervin Piquerez S.A. (EPSA) from 1956, the famous Super Compressor case design

The Condition

Today, Enicar Sherpa models—especially Super Compressor variants—are increasingly collectible because:

  • They represent the golden age of tool watches (1950s–60s)

  • They use historically important case technology (EPSA)

  • They were produced in relatively limited numbers compared to major brand.

  • The watch  is run by the automatic AR 1034 movement. The watch works very good but we do not have any service history. If you want, we can offer you a professional serviced for €375 with 1 year of warranty!

This beautiful case is 36 mm width excl. the crown and with normal signs of use. The caseback has some signs of wear.

The dial is in a beautiful black colour dial with beautiful patina that tells its history. There is some small signs of ageing but everything is still 100% original and with the rare hands intact.

The bezel is well preserved AND 100% correct even without the red inlay (see photo from advertisement) and the Enicar book. The bezel got a ”ding” at about eight a clock.
