The Watch
The Seamasters was launched in 1948 and have achieved worldwide fame for their rugged reliability. The Seamaster family had its origins in the watches supplied to the British Airforce during the second world war. In 1954, 50 cases equipped with O-ring gaskets were submitted to a succession of extremely severe tests, both in the factory and at the Swiss Laboratory for Watchmaking Reswarch. Each case perfectly resisted pressures of 6 kg/cm2 (corresponding to a depth of 60 metres) and temperatures from -40 C to +50 C, all without showing any trace of water infiltration or humidity.

The Condition
This watch got an factory original dial with a nice patina. Applied indexes and logo and original “Dauphine” hands.
The applied details on the dial, as well as the dauphine hands, are executed in a yellow gold tone that fits the look on the watch very well and versatility.
The case is signed with a small EPSA helmet logo on the inside caseback, indicating it was made by Ervin Piquerez S.A., famous for crafting compressor-style cases for many notable watchmakers of the era. With an egg-shell-tone dial, this watch wears surprisingly large on the wrist. There is something about these off-white dials that, when paired with thin bezel cases, makes the watch feel extra large on the wrist. This one fits comfortably at only 9.6mm thick.
The caseback have been polished at some point since it probably have been an engraving at the back.
The case has got some small signs of wear but is overall in a nice condition with original bevels. The crown is original and so is the crystal with the Omega symbol in the centre.
A true stunner!
