The Watch
The Seamasters was launched in 1948 and have achieved worldwide fame for their rugged reliability. The Seamaster family had its origins in the watches supplied to the British Airforce during the second world war. In 1954, 50 cases equipped with O-ring gaskets were submitted to a succession of extremely severe tests, both in the factory and at the Swiss Laboratory for Watchmaking Reswarch. Each case perfectly resisted pressures of 6 kg/cm2 (corresponding to a depth of 60 metres) and temperatures from -40 C to +50 C, all without showing any trace of water infiltration or humidity.

The Condition
This is a beauty!
The case is a "beefy lugs"/"fat lug"-case. It means it got a bit more wrist presence due to the thicker lugs. The case shows signes from wear as seen in the photos, but what else to expect for a watch from the 1950’s?
The crown is Omega signed and correct for the reference.
The dial is the most spectacular detail of this watch - a rare original dial with beautiful ”cappuccino” or ”fumé”-ish dial with beautiful contrast from inner and outer circle.
This is a true stunner and something for the real connoisseur.
