The Watch
The Suverän is considered a rare and highly collectible item. The model was made on demand by Swedish government in the early 1940’s produced by Omega and only to be sold in Sweden. The Swedish government wanted to sell the watch to the Swedish public during WW2 in aim to boost the Swedish economy in order to finance the armed forces as an alternative to war bonds.
The model came with two different back cases the most common has “SUVERAN” engraved on the backside while the other has “ANTIMAGNETISK – VATTENTAT – STÖTSKYDDAD“ (antimagnetic – waterproof – shockproof) engraved on the backside. Both models were exclusively produced to the Swedish government and in limited numbers, which explains why the model is considered rare and highly collectible. Both models are hard to come by on world wide market and are most likely to be found in the Scandinavian countries.
