The Watch
Longines was early to create water-resistant, time-only watches for daily use. They are really the basis for the classic stainless steel sports watch that is to come about a decade after this example is made. The market quickly learned what a robust tool watch could do for them on a daily basis thanks to watches like the Longines Tre Tacche.
This example is simply stunning with a 30mm diameter stainless steel case. The stepped bezel gives the watch a nice presence on the wrist and adds to the overall interesting aesthetic of the watch. In addition to the case style, this watch has developed a beautiful and unique look. The dial has developed patina. According to the Longines registers, this watch was invoiced in 1942.
