The Watch

Minerva was founded as the H&C Robert Company by two brothers in Villeret in 1858, and ultimately renaming the company to Minerva in 1923. Over the following two decades, Minerva introduced several now-legendary chronograph movements, including the caliber 13-20 seen in this watch.

The caliber 13-20 inside represents one of the earliest wristwatch chronograph movements to be developed. Minerva designed the movement in partnership with the specialists at Dubois Depraz. First released in the 1920s as a monopusher, Minerva adapted the design in 1940 to feature a twin pusher setup. The caliber 13-20 is noted for how advanced the movement architecture and construction were for its original time of production.
