The Watch
This watch is rare in so many ways!! Let us start with the name: “Kronometer Stockholm”. The company “Kronometer Stockholm” was founded in 1933 and where in business until 1976. In the beginning of Kronometer Stockholms history they mostly handled the transactions for workwatches, stopwatches, labwatches, different watches for ships, pocket watches and chronograph-based watches for measuring time. But times changed and so did the companies focus, hence they switched to wristwatches which in late 1940’s and 60s where their main business. Kronometer Stockholm chose to put even more focus on chronographs to the private market and opened their own shop on Roslagsgatan 9 in Stockholm. They mostly sold expensive pieces through their contract with Breitling. Many of these Chronographs both had Breitling and Kronometer Stockholm logo on their dials but not all of them!
Our KS watch is a ”Breitling” ref. 734 in a 37mm case. During the 40’s would’ve been considered oversized, and even today it remains one of the most legible and wearable watches.
Our particular watch was retailed by Kronometer Stockholm, who were the official distributors for Breitling in Sweden. The difference lies in the dial, where there is a beautiful stamping of Kronometer Stockholm’s crown.
Furthermore, this is a huge watch. 37mm during the 40’s would’ve been considered oversized, and even today it remains one of the most legible and wearable watches.
The watch that WOFS now can put out for sale is one of these given to its original owner in the early 1950’s. The watch therefor only have had one owner before us and is in a magnificent and historical condition.

The Condition
If you search for an untouched original dial from the 1940’s - this is it!
The watch shows signs from wear but it is still as good as We like them - blue original hands, original crown well preserved case and a cappuccino brown dial with signs of ageing. There is a small mark at the dial but besides that - so much to love for a collector.
The crystal got some small signs of use and the caseback got some thin scratches but nothing remarkable.
